Milan Lucic is reportedly about to get paid.
The unrestricted free agent is expected to receive a seven-year contract offer worth at least $42 million from the Edmonton Oilers when the signing period opens at 12 pm EST on Friday, according to Chris Johnston of Sportsnet.
Lucic traveled to Edmonton to meet with Oilers brass earlier in the week, and is also believed to have sat down with representatives from the Vancouver Canucks and Dallas Stars.
The 28-year-old winger, who's coming off a three-year, $18-million deal signed with the Boston Bruins, recorded 20 goals and 55 points with the Los Angeles Kings this past season.
