Kings' Drew Doughty: Claims Norris Trophy

Doughty was presented with the Norris Trophy at the NHL Awards ceremony in Las Vegas on Wednesday.

Analysis:

Doughty has been nominated for the Norris award on three occasions, but this is his first time taking home the hardware as the league's top defenseman. Last season, his eighth in the NHL, the 26-year-old generated 14 goals, 37 helpers and a career-high rating of plus-24. TSN's Frank Seravalli reports that Erik Karlsson of the Senators, someone who averaged a point per game in 2015-16, failed to garner half the amount of votes as Doughty.
