Blues' Scottie Upshall: Pens contract with St. Louis
Upshall (thumb) agreed to terms on a new one-year deal with the Blues on Wednesday.
Analysis:
Upshall originally signed with St. Louis on a professional tryout two years ago, but has shown the organization enough to keep him around on a year-to-year basis. The 32-year-old saw action in 70 games during the 2015-16 campaign, tallying 14 points and 44 PIM. A bruising winger who likes to dish out hits -- he had 92 of those this past season -- Upshall should be fully recovered from his thumb injury in time for training camp.
