Lindstrom was NHL Central Scouting's 10th-ranked European skater, a two-position drop from January's midterm rankings. Despite the slight drop, he remains a promising prospect with plenty of skill and tremendous upside.
The 18-year-old produced at a high rate for Skelleftea's junior team, with whom he served as an assistant captain and led the team in scoring. Lindstrom's greatest asset is his vision. A clearly pass-first player, he creates plenty of opportunities for his teammates through the middle of the ice.
Lindstrom is a good skater in spurts, but could benefit from stronger acceleration to reach top speed, according to Jimmy Hamrin of hockeyprospectus.com.
He will likely need a few seasons of development before making an impact with the Flames.
