Predators' Marek Mazanec: Re-signs with Nashville

Mazanec agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with the Predators on Monday.

Mazanec split time last season in AHL Milwaukee, but was benched for much of the team's Calder Cup run in favor of Juuse Saros. Battling it out with Saros is a trend will likely continue for the 24-year-old Czech to determine who will back up Pekka Rinne in the majors. One thing becoming clear for fantasy owners; 2015-16 backup Carter Hutton has likely played his last game in Smashville.
