Lightning's Ben Bishop: Sheds light on playoff injury

Bishop clarified that he had strained ligaments around his ankle as the result of his injury sustained in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals, Lightning beat writer Erik Erlendsson reports.

Analysis:

Bishop told reporters that he had trouble dropping into the butterfly position, but might have been ready by Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals had the Lightning defeated the Penguins in Game 7 of the conference finals. The big goalie was spectacular before suffering the ailment, finishing his second straight postseason with a 1.85 GAA through 11 starts. With that playoff injury evidently not too serious, there's no need to bump him down your fantasy rankings ahead of the 2016-17 season; in fact, he should be one of the first tenders off the board.
