Coyotes' Shane Doan: Will keep playing in 2016-17

Doan would like to continue his career with the Coyotes in 2016-17, The Arizona Republic reports.

Analysis:

Coyotes general manager John Chayka explained that there is mutual interest and he fully intends on bringing the captain back next season. "It's just a matter of going through that process to reach a deal," Chayka said, "because Shane wants to be back. We want him to be back, and we're going to get something done. It's just a matter of time." Doan posted a career-low minus-29 rating in 2014-15, only to improve that mark to plus-4 this season. He also led the team with 28 goals, his highest output since 2008-09. Doan has spent his entire career with the Coyotes, and as long he stays healthy, he'll be a viable option in the vast majority of fantasy leagues.
