Penguins' Matt Murray: Set for Wednesday's Game 3

Murray will defend the net from the Lightning on Wednesday for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.

Analysis:

This late in the postseason, Penguins coach Mike Sullivan is reluctant to start veteran backstop Marc-Andre Fleury, given that he hasn't played at all this postseason. Of course, Murray has held his own between the pipes, securing eight playoffs wins thanks to his yielding more than three goals in a given contest just once: Game 1 versus the Capitals in the conference quarterfinals, a 4-3 overtime loss. The rookie tender has a level head - perhaps from standing on it so much while emerging victorious from three of four overtime games, including a 3-2 clipping of Tampa in Monday's Game 2. Unless Murray starts to show signs of slowing down against stiffer competition, you'll want to keep him locked and loaded in playoff pools.
