Bruins' Torey Krug: Undergoes shoulder surgery

Krug underwent right shoulder surgery on April 21.

Analysis:

Per the report, Krug's recovery time is expected to be in the neighborhood of six months. Given that the NHL regular season is in line to begin in early October, it's fair to wonder at this stage whether the mobile blueliner might miss some time out of the gate as the 2016-17 campaign opens. Expect added clarity on that front to arrive once training camp gets going, but ultimately we'd expect the Bruins to err on the side of caution with Krug with the long haul in mind.
