PRO BASKETBALL
TORONTO (AP) DeMar DeRozan scored 30 points, Jonas Valanciunas had 15 rebounds and 10 points and the Toronto Raptors beat the Indiana Pacers 89-84 on Sunday night in Game 7 of the first-round playoff series to advance to face Miami in the conference semifinals.
Game 1 is Tuesday night in Toronto.
Rookie Norman Powell added 13 points, Kyle Lowry had 11 points and nine assists, and Patrick Patterson had 11 pointed to help Toronto win a seven-game series for the first time in franchise history.
The Raptors won their first postseason series since a five-game triumph over the New York Knicks in 2001, ending the NBA's longest active drought between playoff series victories.
MIAMI (AP) - Goran Dragic scored 25 points, Gerald Green added 16 and the Miami Heat emphatically ended Charlotte's season Sunday, beating the Hornets 106-73 in Game 7 of their Eastern Conference first-round series.
Luol Deng scored 15 points, Dwyane Wade added 12 and Hassan Whiteside had a 10-point, 12-rebound, five-block clincher for the Heat, who have won their last four Game 7s - each of the previous three coming along the way to winning NBA championships.
OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Stephen Curry has resumed light shooting without movement on his injured right knee with the hopes he can get into scrimmages by later next week, perhaps in time to be ready for Game 3 of the Golden State Warriors' Western Conference semifinals at Portland.
Coach Steve Kerr said before Sunday's Game 1 against the Trail Blazers that it's ''pretty slim'' the reigning MVP would be ready for Game 2 on Tuesday night at Oracle Arena.

AUTO RACING
TALLADEGA, Ala. (AP) - Brad Keselowski won a demolition derby at Talladega Superspeedway, where multiple wrecks caused two cars to go airborne and led to millions of dollars in damage to race teams.
Keselowski's cruise to the checkered flag was anticlimactic Sunday compared to all the other trouble.
Chris Buescher's car flipped three times in an early crash, and Matt Kenseth was turned upside down in the waning laps. In Kenseth's accident, Danica Patrick hit hard into an energy-absorbing wall that that seemed to buckle upon impact. She appeared shaken after the hit.
There were 21- and 12-car accidents in the final 28 laps. And, as Keselowski crossed the finish line, another wreck in the back of the pack punctuated the sloppy day. Fox Sports said during the broadcast that 33 of the 40 cars were involved in some sort of accident. Only 21 of the 40 cars finished on the lead lap, and 12 cars were ruled out of the race.
Second-place finisher Kyle Busch said he looked in his rearview mirror at one point and only saw four cars without some sort of damage.

MANCHESTER, England (AP) - Leicester missed its first opportunity to clinch the Premier League title, drawing 1-1 at Manchester United on Sunday to move within two points of the most unlikely championship in English soccer in a generation.
Second-place Tottenham, which is eight points behind Leicester, must beat Chelsea away on Monday to keep alive the title race.
Leicester fought back at Old Trafford after going behind to Anthony Martial's eighth-minute goal, with captain Wes Morgan heading in a free kick to equalize in the 17th. Leicester midfielder Danny Drinkwater was sent off in the 86th for a second yellow card.
A win would have sealed the title for Leicester, a modest team from central England that narrowly escaped relegation last season and entered bankruptcy protection only seven years ago while in the third tier.
CHICAGO (AP) - Christian Pulisic, a 17-year-old midfielder who has scored twice for Borussia Dortmund in the past month, was among 40 players selected by U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann for his preliminary Copa America roster.
Matt Miazga, a 20-year-old defender who made his Chelsea debut on April 2, also was included Sunday along with Jordan Morris, a 21-year-old forward who left Stanford in the middle of his junior year to sign with the Seattle Sounders, and 20-year-old goalkeeper Ethan Horvath, who started for the U.S. team that failed to qualify for this year's Olympics.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Washington Capitals defenseman Brooks Orpik was suspended three games for his late hit to the head of Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Olli Maatta.
Orpik will miss Game 3 Monday, Game 4 Wednesday and Game 5 Saturday. He'd be eligible to return if the series gets to Game 6 on May 10.
Orpik hit Maatta in the head after the puck was gone four minutes into Game 2 Saturday and was given a two-minute minor penalty for interference. After a hearing with the NHL's department of player safety, the punishment was far more severe.

BASEBALL
CHICAGO (AP) - A front-office mistake left the Atlanta Braves short a player for their game against the Chicago Cubs on Sunday.
The Braves announced four hours before the scheduled first pitch that they had selected the contract of veteran utility player Emilio Bonifacio from Triple-A Gwinnett and optioned reliever Chris Withrow to Gwinnett.
One problem: Bonifacio isn't eligible to be on the Braves' 25-man roster until Saturday because it hasn't been 30 days since he was released by the Braves and re-signed to a minor league deal. And bringing back Withrow wasn't an option. So the Braves had only 24 players, even as Bonifacio wandered around their clubhouse Sunday morning.
FRISCO, Texas (AP) - Yu Darvish threw 18 of 32 pitches for strikes in a rehab start Sunday, the first game for the Texas Rangers ace since Tommy John surgery more than 13 months ago.
Darvish worked two scoreless innings with two strikeouts and one walk for Double-A Frisco against Corpus Christi, an affiliate of the Houston Astros.
The right-hander from Japan last pitched in a major league game on Aug. 9, 2014, then missed the end of that season because of right elbow inflammation. He pitched only one inning the following spring before surgery on March 17, 2015.

AVONDALE, La. (AP) - Jhonattan Vegas birdied two of five holes he was able to play in the rain-delayed third round of the Zurich Classic on Sunday, giving him a share of the lead with Brian Stuard.
Tournament officials cut the event to 54 holes in an attempt to finish play Monday.
Vegas made birdie putts from beyond 7 feet on the first two holes to reach 13 under, then parred three straight before steady rain, accompanied by intermittent thunder, forced organizers to clear the water-logged TPC Louisiana after little more than two hours of play.
IRVING, Texas (AP) - Jenny Shin won the Volunteers of America Texas Shootout on Sunday for her first LPGA Tour victory, pulling away for a two-stroke victory at Las Colinas.
Making her 135th tour start, Shin closed with a 4-under 67 to finish at 14-under 270. The 23-year-old South Korean player went to high school in Torrance, California, and won the 2006 U.S. Girls' Junior.
Third-round leader Gerina Piller, the area resident seeking her first tour victory, birdied the final hole for a 73 to tie for second with South Koreans Amy Yang and Mi Jung Hur.
