Analysis:

The veteran netminder struggled at the start of the year, but looked very sharp when he returned from injury in March, finishing the season with five wins in his last 10 starts. Smith is in the middle of a contract with the Coyotes and will likely face stiff competition for his job from teammate Louis Domingue next season.
