Nugent-Hopkins has turned down a chance to play for Team Canada in the World Championship, Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal reports.

Analysis:

Nugent-Hopkins has decided to stay at home and continue to work on the hand he broke earlier this season. While the injury healed enough to allow him to play the last couple of games in the regular season, it's still not 100 percent. RNH will go into the 2016-17 season as the likely center on Edmonton's second line but who will flank him has yet to be determined.
