NHL Game Summary - Vancouver at Anaheim

Anaheim, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Corey Perry used his head to score a goal -- literally.

Perry scored after knocking the puck into the crease with his head, Nick Bonino netted the go-ahead goal and the Anaheim Ducks extended their winning streak to five games with a 3-1 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday.

Frederik Andersen made 35 saves to help the Ducks secure a 3-0 homestand and extend their NHL lead to 31 points, but Perry's goal was the highlight.

His 11th of the season came after four connect-the-body-parts deflections that saw the puck hit a skate, shoulder, head and leg before going in.

Francois Beauchemin's slap shot from the high right side first went off the right heel of Canucks defenseman Jason Garrison, then the right shoulder pad of Eddie Lack as the Canucks goaltender shrugged to make the save.

From there, it deflected high to Perry, who was standing to the left of Lack and head-butted the puck down into the crease. The puck then hit off the back of Lack's right leg before Perry jabbed with his stick to make sure it crossed the line, giving Anaheim a 1-0 lead 8:30 into the second period.

Tom Sestito scored for the Canucks, who went 1-2-1 on a four-game road trip, and Lack had 20 saves.

Vancouver tied it at 14:09 of the second period after Brad Richardson, deep in the left corner, found Sestito in front for a shot that beat Andersen glove- side.

But Bonino restored Anaheim's one-goal lead in the final minutes of the second when he was wide-open in front for a pass Emerson Etem slipped under sliding Canucks defenseman Dan Hamhuis.

The Ducks cleared the puck to escape a dangerous situation in front of their net with 2 1/2 minutes left in the game and Andrew Cogliano later scored on an empty net.

Earlier, Andersen had 13 saves in the scoreless first period and Lack made five.
