Jameis Winston: I'd take a pay cut to play with Jalen Ramsey again

Last year's first overall pick would trade riches for the chance to reunite with this year's potential first overall pick.

Jameis Winston, whom the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected with the top pick in 2015, said he badly wants the Buccaneers to find a way to draft safety Jalen Ramsey, his former teammate at Florida State.

"We (FSU) definitely have the best player in the world in Jalen Ramsey," Winston said at a dinner event last week, according to Mark Cook of PewterReport.com. "People talk about his position. But Jalen is the best cornerback, safety… I will take a pay cut to play with him again. He has a fierce mentality.

"And the best thing about him is he is a Seminole! I have already shot (Buccaneers GM Jason Licht) some texts."

Ramsey is a popular choice in mock drafts to go first overall to the Tennessee Titans. He's such a hot prospect that the chance of him remaining on the board until the Buccaneers select ninth overall is essentially nil.

Unless the Buccaneers make a big splash and trade up, Winston and Ramsey's on-field reunion will come on opposite sides of the ball.
