Mike Evans has been participating in off-campus throwing sessions with Jameis Winston

Evans has been participating in off-campus throwing sessions with Jameis Winston, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Analysis:

Evans and Winston are seeking to improve their timing and rapport after a season in which the sophomore receiver led the NFL in drops and hauled in only three touchdowns. With Evans also having missed the majority of his first two pro offseasons due to injuries, this spring presents him with his first opportunity to put in full preparation for an upcoming campaign. Coach Dirk Koetter sees plenty of room for improvement in the connection between his star quarterback and receiver. "I don't think (Evans) and Jameis ever really had great chemistry that you see a lot of the top quarterbacks and receivers in the league have. How could they? They're both such young guys and they've been together just one year. I think as they grow older together, you'll see that chemistry improve." With productive veteran Vincent Jackson set to return alongside him in the starting lineup, Doug Martin back to draw attention from opposing defenses, and the talented Winston working with a year under his belt, Evans could be primed for a breakout 2016.
