Chiefs select CB Eric Murray in the 4th round

The Kansas City Chiefs have selected cornerback Eric Murray out of Minnesota in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
Murray is the second cornerback the Chiefs have selected after picking KeiVarae Russell from Notre Dame. They also selected Marcus Peters in the first round of last year's draft.
Murray and Russell will compete to be the team's nickel cornerback after Kansas City lost starter Sean Smith in free agency.

Strengths
- Displays a willingness to tackle, and is an above-average run-defender.
- Does a great job of disrupting downfield routes.
- Murray is disruptive at the line of scrimmage, and is intelligent about rerouting receivers.
- Excels against larger wide receivers.
Weaknesses
- Will overrun the ball-carrier at times while in search of an explosive hit.
- Murray will sometimes get tangled with receivers due to his lack of top-end speed.
- Poor hip rotation allows receivers to beat Murray on slant routes.
- Murray displays below-average ball skills, and needs to be more patient when the ball is in the air.
