The Minnesota Vikings re-signed cornerback and return specialist Marcus Sherels to a two-year, $4-million contract extension, according to USA TODAY's Tom Pelissero.
Sherels can also earn $300,000 in incentives for his punt return average, and a Pro Bowl selection, per Pelissero.
The 28-year-old is considered by many to be one of the premier special teams players in the NFL.
Sherels recorded eight tackles while playing in all 16 games for the Vikings. The veteran cornerback last missed a game during the 2010 season.
