Johnny Manziel was let loose by the Cleveland Browns on Friday after two rocky seasons with the organization, a move that had been expected for months.

The Dallas Cowboys have been known to give second chances to troubled players, but for now, it looks as though they'll be keeping their distance from Manziel.

A source told Dave Moore of the Dallas Morning News that the Cowboys have no intention of visiting with or signing Manziel, echoing comments a team official made to WFAA's Rebecca Lopez anonymously in February.

However, that same source told Moore that the Cowboys won't pursue or have any serious discussions about the former Heisman Trophy winner "until he gets his life back in order," suggesting there's a possibility the team could pursue him in the future.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones didn't hide the fact that he wanted to draft Manziel in 2014, and has openly praised him since. It was also reported in January that Manziel had the Cowboys listed as his preferred destination should he be cut by the Browns.

At this point, it would be surprising to see any team show interest in Manziel until his legal situation is sorted out. He's awaiting word from a Dallas grand jury regarding possible domestic assault charges stemming from an altercation with his ex-girlfriend, and remains under investigation by the NFL for a possible violation of the league's personal conduct policy.
