The Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to sign tight end Ladarius Green, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Pittsburgh has an opening at tight end with the retirement of Heath Miller, the team's starter for the past 11 seasons. The current group consists of Jesse James, Xavier Grimble, and Matt Spaeth.

Green, a former fourth-round pick, has spent his entire four-year career in San Diego. With the Chargers re-signing tight end Antonio Gates on Wednesday, Green became expendable.

In 47 career games, Green has caught 77 passes for 1,087 yards and seven touchdowns.
