In search of a new running back following the release of Arian Foster, the Houston Texans are reportedly looking at one of the top players available on the open market.

Houston has "strong interest" in the Miami Dolphins' impending free agent Lamar Miller, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.

Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported earlier Tuesday that Miller wasn't expected to re-sign in Miami, suggesting the Texans and Dallas Cowboys could be the favorites to land his services.

Miller enters the free-agent market in search of an opportunity to be a featured back, and he'd certainly take on such a role were he to end up in Houston.

After several years of being underused in the Dolphins' backfield, getting consistent carries could easily have him poised for his most productive season yet.

Miller posted 4.6 yards per carry over his four years in Miami, including a 2014 campaign in which he posted an incredibly impressive average of 5.1.
