Report: Broncos to use low-round tender on C.J. Anderson

The Denver Broncos don't seem prepared to do whatever it takes to keep running back C.J. Anderson in the fold.

The Broncos will use only an original-round tender on Anderson, according to multiple reports, meaning the team will not receive any compensation if Anderson signs elsewhere.

The Broncos are pressed tight against the salary cap and appear to have prioritized signing Brock Osweiler over retaining Anderson, so perhaps the tender - and the minimal financial commitment that comes with it - makes sense.

Anderson, who joined the Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2013, seemed to take the news in stride:

Broncos running back Ronnie Hillman is set to hit free agency on Wednesday, so the team's backfield could look much different next season.
