3 ways the Rams can make the most of their return to Hollywood

Hollywood's finest will gather under one roof for the 88th Academy Awards on Sunday evening, but they aren't the only prominent entertainers returning to Los Angeles.

After spending the past 21 seasons in St. Louis, the Rams will once again bask in the bright lights of Southern California.

Here are three ways the Rams can make the most of their homecoming.

Promote Todd Gurley as a transcendent force

Todd Gurley was billed as the best running back prospect since Adrian Peterson, and he exceeded the hype in his rookie season. Gurley rushed for 1,106 yards and 10 touchdowns, despite missing three games while recovering from a torn ACL, and was named Offensive Rookie of the Year. By doing so, Gurley provided the Rams with the offensive star power they've been lacking since the "Greatest Show on Turf" era.

Gurley's unique combination of speed, size, power, and field vision makes him one of the most marketable stars in the NFL. Due to the wide appeal of fantasy football, Gurley's already becoming a household name. The Rams ought to build prominent campaigns around him in the nation's second-largest media market.

Play highlights of Rams' front four on a loop

Defensive highlights don't usually sell as well as offensive clips, but the Rams boast the personnel to represent an exception to the rule.

Aaron Donald is widely believed to be the league's foremost defensive tackle. His raw speed and power make him impossible to avoid when watching the tape, and this breakdown against the Buccaneers exemplifies his true star qualities:

Robert Quinn posted 19.5 sacks in 2013 and is capable of approaching the 20-sack mark if he's fully healthy. To build hype for the upcoming season, the Rams ought to make Donald and Quinn central pieces of their promotional campaigns, and show their best plays on a loop before home games.

Bring back the old uniforms

The Rams' current uniforms are among the ugliest in the NFL, but the organization isn't without recourse. With ample opportunity to sell new jerseys, merchandise, and other apparel, the Rams ought to revert back to the classic uniforms they wore from 1973-99.

Here is Marshall Faulk wearing the road white uniform:

While Kurt Warner sports the home blue jersey:

Fashion is always subjective, but these uniforms seem to be improvements on the current iteration. Heading into Los Angeles this fall, the Rams would be wise to ditch their staid uniforms in favor of the sleek look from years past.
