While McCoy sits in legal limbo, the Bills are preparing as if the running back "will miss several games to begin next season," Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Analysis:

There have been no developments of interest since it was revealed last Thursday that the Philadelphia District Attorney was "pushing back" against arrest warrants for McCoy and three others for their involvement in an alleged assault of off-duty police officers at a night club in early February. Even if McCoy avoids charges for the incident, the NFL may deem him in violation of the league's personal-conduct policy, which would likely be accompanied by a suspension of some type. With that knowledge, the Bills will likely add a running back to their stable via free agency and/or the draft, though Karlos Williams (knee) would be the in-house front-runner to earn starts in the event McCoy misses time.
