New England Patriots defensive tackle Dominique Easley won't require surgery on his injured quad and is expected to be ready for offseason workouts, a source told Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald.

It's great news for both the 2014 first-round pick and the Patriots.

Easley finished each of his first two seasons as a pro on injured reserve. His time at Florida was plagued by injuries, too, including two torn ACLs.

When healthy, he is a disruptive interior force. The problem for the Patriots has been keeping him healthy. It's likely the team will limit Easley's involvement in offseason activities to keep him in top shape for the regular season.
