The San Diego Chargers hired Dave DeGuglielmo as their assistant offensive line coach Tuesday.

DeGuglielmo spent the past two seasons as the New England Patriots' offensive line coach but was fired following the AFC Championship Game, a game in which the club allowed over 20 quarterback hits.

The veteran offensive line coach also won a Super Bowl against the Patriots with the New York Giants in 2007.

San Diego surrendered 40 sacks in 2015, the 12th-worst total in the NFL.

The Chargers also hired tight ends coach John McNulty and assistant secondary coach Chris Harris.
