Bruce Arians: Cardinals have 'very few holes to fill' heading into 2016

The Arizona Cardinals are coming off a crushing NFC Championship Game defeat, but there's still plenty of reason for optimism in looking to the future.

As head coach Bruce Arians explained in his season-ending press conference Monday, the talent under contract for the 2016 campaign has the roster in far better shape than years past.

"Oh, God," Arians said, according to the team's official website. "Looking at the team that's coming back versus where we were this time last year, very few holes to fill. Steve’s already off starting to do it and this offseason already has begun."

Now having the opportunity to bolster an already well-rounded roster, it would be no surprise to see Arizona among the last teams standing for a second consecutive year.

The Cardinals will have both a considerable amount of salary-cap space and a full crop of draft selections as they look to position themselves for another playoff run.

After a 13-3 finish to the regular season, which earned the Cardinals the NFC's No. 2 seed, Arians' club now sports an impressive 34-14 record in his three seasons since taking over in 2013.
