Marshawn Lynch is widely expected to make his return to the field for Sunday's divisional-round matchup with the Carolina Panthers.

While it's unclear whether the Seattle Seahawks expect him to have a significant role in the offense after sitting out each of the past eight games with an abdominal injury, Lynch's trainer is confident he's ready to go.

After undergoing surgery to repair a sports hernia in late November, Lynch spent the next few weeks rehabbing in San Francisco with MMA coach Tareq Azim.

If he's indeed back at full strength, as his second consecutive week of practice participation would appear to indicate, Lynch will almost certainly be given every opportunity to see work as the featured back.

Though he struggled to produce prior to the injury, recording just 417 yards and three touchdowns across seven regular-season games, the five-time Pro Bowler has long taken his game to another level in the playoffs.

Lynch recorded 606 rushing yards and six touchdowns in his previous six postseason appearances, helping Seattle reach the Super Bowl in each of the past two seasons.
