Report: Aaron Rodgers underwent minor knee surgery after playoff loss

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers underwent knee surgery within days of his team being eliminated from the playoffs, reports Jason Wilde and Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

The surgery is believed to have been minor and was described as a "clean-up of an old injury."

Rodgers said that he is "doing well" and "recovering on schedule," according to Wilde and Demovsky.

The 32-year-old never appeared on the Packers' injury report with a knee injury, but did suffer a hit on his left knee by Detroit Lions defensive end Ezekiel Ansah in Week 10.

However, he didn't miss any game or practice time because of a knee issue and his mobility never seemed impaired during the latter part of the season.

While surgery to a franchise quarterback is always notable, it appears unlikely that the minor procedure will keep Rodgers from being ready for the start of the Packers' offseason program in April.
