Arizona Cardinals running back Chris Johnson returned to practice Tuesday but remains on short-term IR, reports Field Yates of ESPN, citing a source.

Johnson suffered a fractured tibia in a Week 12 matchup with the San Francisco 49ers and was placed on IR-recall. He is eligible to return if the Cardinals make the Super Bowl.

The three-time Pro Bowler will continue to rehab as the Cardinals try to go on a long playoff run. Rookie David Johnson has taken over the backfield, while Andre Ellington is mixing in on passing downs.

Chris rushed for 814 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games this season, and will be a strong candidate for Comeback Player of the Year.
