Despite Sunday's crushing last-minute loss to the Seattle Seahawks, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson sees big things in the Vikings' future.

Peterson told reporters after the game there is no doubt the Vikings will be the NFC's No. 1 seed in next year's playoffs, according to Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Peterson, the NFL's leading rusher this season, went on to say he'll be better than ever next year.

In Sunday's game, which was played in the third-coldest temperature of any NFL game in history, Peterson managed only 45 yards on 23 carries (1.95 yards per carry) and his lost fumble gave the Seahawks the chance to take the lead for good.

Peterson appeared to be briefly benched after his fumble, but he returned for the Vikings' final drive.

The Vikings haven't earned the NFC's top seed since they went 15-1 in 1998.
