Adrian Peterson took home the rushing title this season after racking up 1,485 yards and 11 touchdowns, and has stated before that he considers himself the best running back in the NFL.

So, who's the runner-up?

Peterson says that title belongs to Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, who will be on the opposite end of the field for Sunday's NFC wild-card matchup.

"I remember coming out (of college) with him. We trained together in Arizona, and I knew he was going to be a force to be reckoned with," the Minnesota Vikings running back said, according to Ben Goessling of ESPN. "He's 'Beast Mode' for a reason: He's a physical runner. He plays fast. His lateral movement, cuts, his vision is top of the line. Even though he didn't play much this year, I would say he's probably the second-best back in the league. I'd give it to him, hands down.

"I'm a guy with a little more speed. I don't think he's got the same jump-cut as me. But his lateral movement, his ability to get through guys is amazing."

Lynch finished the regular season with just 417 yards and three touchdowns while missing nine games because of an abdomen injury. He had rushed for at least 1,200 yards and 11 touchdowns in each of the past four seasons.

The Seahawks are hopeful Lynch will be able to play Sunday after returning to practice this week.
