The San Francisco 49ers have their man.
Team CEO Jed York announced Thursday that the 49ers have hired Chip Kelly as their next head coach.
It's a second chance for Kelly, who started his NFL career hot, leading the Philadelphia Eagles to consecutive 10-win seasons, but flamed out in somewhat spectacular fashion this season.
With Trent Baalke remaining as the 49ers' general manager, it's likely Kelly won't have final say over personnel decisions - something that may have doomed his tenure with the Eagles.
Kelly will instead focus on applying his unique offensive scheme to an offense that features the mobile and strong-armed Colin Kaepernick at quarterback and Carlos Hyde, Torrey Smith, and Anquan Boldin at the skill positions.
