Ole Miss junior wide receiver Laquon Treadwell has declared for the 2016 NFL Draft.

"After sitting down with my family, we have decided it is time for me to take the next step in my career and enter the 2016 NFL draft," Treadwell said in a statement. "It's always been a dream of mine to play in the NFL, and I can't thank my teammates, coaches, and our great fans enough for their unbelievable support since the first day I stepped foot on campus."

The Rebels wideout caught 82 passes for 1,153 yards and 11 touchdowns this season en route to cementing himself as one of the top receivers in the nation. He put up big numbers a season after suffering a gruesome injury, in which he broke his leg and dislocated his ankle.

Treadwell, 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds, caught four or more passes in every game this season and hauled in at least one touchdown in seven of his last eight games.

"It was an honor to have coached Laquon, and our family will miss him greatly," head coach Hugh Freeze said. "The commitment that he and others in his class made to our program three years ago has changed the culture of Ole Miss."

Treadwell is widely considered a first-round talent. Ole Miss left tackle Laremy Tunsil is also expected to declare for the draft, and between the two of them and defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche, the Rebels could have three players picked in the first round.

Treadwell ends his Ole Miss career with 202 receptions for 2,394 yards and 21 touchdowns in three seasons. His Rebels defeated Oklahoma State in the Sugar Bowl on Friday.
