Chargers' Weddle, Verrett exit vs. Raiders with injuries

The San Diego Chargers lost their top two defensive backs to injury in Thursday night's loss to the Oakland Raiders.

Safety Eric Weddle and cornerback Jason Verrett were officially ruled out shortly after being forced to the sidelines with hamstring and groin injuries, respectively.

The Chargers' defense, minus Weddle and Verrett, was unable to hold off a second-half comeback by Oakland.

San Diego entered this week's action boasting the NFL's 11th-ranked pass defense, an accomplishment due in large part to the consistent level of play from Weddle and Verrett on the back end.
