The St. Louis Rams will not be penalized for mishandling the concussion protocol last week with quarterback Case Keenum, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Keenum had clearly suffered a head injury late in the Sunday afternoon matchup with the Baltimore Ravens, struggling to get to his feet after his head made contact with the ground.

The quarterback was allowed to stay in the game for the final two plays following a brief discussion with the Rams head athletic trainer.

A mandatory conference call was held Tuesday in wake of the incident with Keenum, where the NFL reviewed the concussion protocol with the trainers of all 32 teams.

Nick Foles is expected to return to the starting role for Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals, as Keenum has yet to be cleared.
