London bound: Jaguars, Colts, Rams, Redskins, Bengals to cross Atlantic in 2016

At least three NFL teams will be playing in London next season for the first time.

The NFL announced its slate of games for the 2016 UK International Series on Wednesday, which has the Jacksonville Jaguars returning to London for the fourth consecutive year. They host the Indianapolis Colts in Week 4 on Oct. 2 at Wembley.

Week 7 marks the first-ever NFL game at Twickenham Stadium, with the St. Louis Rams hosting a to-be-determined NFC East team on Oct. 23.

The Cincinnati Bengals will play their first international game in Week 8 when they host the Washington Redskins at Wembley Stadium on Oct. 30.

The Rams' opponent will be whichever NFC East team finishes in the same spot in the standings as they do in the NFC West based on the NFL's scheduling formula. That means the Redskins could become the first team to play in London in consecutive weeks.

Game times and a possible additional International Series game outside of the UK will be announced at a later date.

Mexico City looks like a strong candidate for the additional International Series game, with NFL Network's Albert Breer reporting that the league is "well along" in its process to solve a logistics issue there. If fixed, Mexico City will host a mid-November 2016 game, according to Breer.
