NFL admits officials' error cost Ravens win over Jaguars

Tommy Gilligan / USA TODAY Sports

An NFL spokesperson admitted Monday that game officials made a mistake late in the Jacksonville Jaguars' last-second win over the Baltimore Ravens that led to the Jaguars' victory.

The Jaguars were not properly set on the play before their game-winning field goal and should have been penalized for a false start. This would have resulted in a 10-second runoff and ended the game with the Ravens winning 20-19.

With the win, the Jaguars moved to 3-6 and (incredibly) remain just one win behind the Indianapolis Colts for the AFC South lead.

The Ravens' loss moved them to 2-7 and effectively killed any hope of a post-bye push for the playoffs.
