Report: Bears expect McClellin to miss game vs. Lions; promote Anderson

The Chicago Bears are bracing themselves to be without starting linebacker Shea McClellin for the team's game Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

The Bears will promote linebacker Jonathan Anderson from the practice squad, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune.

McClellin was forced from the team's Week 5 victory against the Kansas City Chiefs with a knee injury and wasn't able to return.

The team reportedly hopes McClellin will return in a matter of weeks, and while the Bears haven't officially ruled out the linebacker versus the Lions, their recent moves indicate he won't be available.

The team worked out Lawrence Sidbury, Trevardo Williams, and Jonathan Massaquoi before ultimately deciding to promote Anderson, an undrafted rookie.

LaRoy Reynolds replaced McClellin at inside linebacker after he was forced from the game, and Anderson will presumably act as a backup to Reynolds and Christian Jones.
