Report: Cortland Finnegan attempts comeback after March retirement

Cortland Finnegan is seeking a return to the NFL after retiring in March, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The veteran cornerback suited up for the Miami Dolphins in 2014, recording 44 tackles and a forced fumble in 12 games, but was released on March 2. Nine days later, Finnegan announced his retirement.

Finnegan has enlisted agent Drew Rosenhaus to help spur his return to the league.

Finnegan was named a first-team All-Pro and was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2008, as a member of the Tennessee Titans.

Pro Football Focus graded Finnegan as the 74th-best cornerback in the NFL last year. The 31-year-old could be a serviceable addition to a team in need of a cornerback for nickel and dime packages.
