Lions' Jim Caldwell: Larry Warford could be out 'a little while'
Detroit Lions guard Larry Warford is expected to miss some time with an ankle injury suffered during Thursday's preseason game against the Washington Redskins.
On Friday, when asked about Warford and defensive tackle Caraun Reid, who also suffered an ankle injury, Lions head coach Jim Caldwell did not have a concrete timeline on either player's return but indicated they could have an extended absence.
"It's going to be a little while," Caldwell said, according to Kyle Meinke of Mlive.com. "I'm not certain. I couldn't give you an exact time frame with any of those guys."
Warford is entering his third year as the Lions best interior lineman, while Reid is expected to rotate at defensive tackle with Haloti Ngata and Tyrunn Walker.
Caldwell expects both to return at some point in the preseason but whether that's the third or fourth game is unknown.
