Report: Jets reach out to Rex Grossman

With Geno Smith expected to miss at least the next six weeks as he recovers from surgery to repair a broken jaw, the New York Jets are in need of some insurance at quarterback.
The Jets appear to be wasting very little time, too, as NFL Network's Rand Getlin reports that the team has already reached out to quarterback Rex Grossman.
The 34-year-old journeyman spent the 2014 preseason with the Cleveland Browns before being released during final roster cuts. He received an offer from the team to return for Week 17, but turned it down.
In 54 career games, Grossman has completed 55.2 percent of his passes for 10,232 yards with 56 touchdowns and 60 interceptions.
