Chiefs' Chris Conley suffers strained knee at training camp

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Chris Conley left training camp Wednesday with a knee strain, head coach Andy Reid told reporters.

Reid didn't provide a timeline for Conley's return, but there's no indication he'll be on the sideline for an extended period.

Conley, selected in the third round of this year's draft, entered his first NFL training camp competing for snaps opposite high-priced free agent Jeremy Maclin.

Forcing his way onto the field and earning a role as a rookie would go a long way to improving the Chiefs' passing game, coming off a season where their wide receivers didn't record a touchdown catch.
