As the deadline looms closer for NFL players to agree to long-term contracts, the Dallas Cowboys and Dez Bryant's agent appear to be ramping up efforts to get a deal done.

The Cowboys had their first face-to-face meeting with Tom Condon in nearly fourth months sometime within the past week, according to Todd Archer of ESPN.

ESPN's Josina Anderson reports that Bryant's co-agent, Kim Miale, was also in attendance and that the meeting took place Friday.

Bryant has yet to sign his $12.823-million franchise tag tender and has threatened to sit out regular-season games in the hopes of getting a longer deal with more guaranteed money. The two sides have until July 15 to come to an agreement, after which Bryant must play out the season under the tender.

As Archer notes, there would be no financial incentive for Bryant to sit out during the regular season, as doing so would cost him approximately $754,000 per week.

Bryant missed the majority of the Cowboys' offseason program, though he was on the sidelines for the team's final minicamp practice.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told reporters recently that negotiations are underway and he expects Bryant to be on the field for the Cowboys when they open the season in September.
