Marcus Mariota feeling 'comfortable' in Titans offense

The NFL experience is very new for rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota, but he is already feeling at ease in his surroundings.

Mariota took part in his first OTA practice with the Tennessee Titans on Tuesday, and felt confident commanding the offense.

"I felt comfortable out there being able to articulate everything that the coaches wanted," Mariota told Paul Kuharsky of ESPN. "I threw it alright. I missed a couple throws here and there but for the most part I thought it was OK."

Despite the solid first day, it was not without mistakes. Mariota noted he threw an interception and lost a fumble. He'll have to cut down on the turnovers if he wants to outshine Zach Mettenberger, a quarterback that has been adamant about pushing Mariota for the starting job.

Even though, the pair are in competition, Mettenberger said he's willing to assist Mariota in acclimating himself to NFL life.

"He's been great, he's really got a sharp personality," Mettenberger added. "He doesn't need a lot of my help, he's been picking up things very quickly, but if he asks we'll all definitely help him out."
