Wednesday night marked the final episode of "Late Show with David Letterman" after a 22-year run on CBS and over 30 years on late night television for Letterman.

To mark the occasion, Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning was on hand as one of 10 celebrities to present Letterman's final Top 10 list. In this case, the theme was "Things I've always wanted to say to Dave" and Manning's quip was a nod to his own history engineering laughs.

Peyton Manning to David Letterman: "Dave, you are to comedy what I am to comedy."

Of all the celebrities in attendance, which included Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, Billy Murray, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Letterman seemed to be most smitten with the arrival of Manning.

Peyton first appeared on the Late Show in 1997 after being named a finalist for the Heisman Trophy while at Tennessee, and later appeared in 2005, 2007 and again in 2014, when the two threw footballs at passing cabs outside the Ed Sullivan Theater.
