The NFL has formally invited Atlanta, New Orleans, Miami and Tampa Bay to bid on hosting the Super Bowl in 2019 and 2020.

The four cities will each be able to bid for one Super Bowl and the winning bids will be named by the owners before next May.

Miami has hosted 10 Super Bowls, but none since 2010 due to the Dolphins' stadium not meeting the league's standards. The Dolphins organization is back in the rotation after owner Stephen Ross pledged over $400 million to upgrade the stadium. Renovations are expected to be completed by the start of the 2016 season.

"We're ecstatic to be back into the bidding game," Rodney Barreto, who chairs South Florida’s Super Bowl host committee, told Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald.

Combined, the four cities have hosted 26 Super Bowls.
