Bobby Wagner hasn't heard from Seahawks about a contract extension

While most of the offseason attention regarding the Seattle Seahawks involved Russell Wilson's contract extension, another key piece of the team is also waiting to be locked up long term.

Linebacker Bobby Wagner is heading into the final year of his rookie deal and hasn't heard anything from the team about an extension.

"I’ve heard nothing so until I get something to sign then I haven't heard nothing," Wagner told Jayson Jenks of The Seattle Times on Friday.

Wagner wants a deal done soon, but that may be easier said than done until Wilson signs his extension.

The inside linebacker has emerged as one of the best in the game at the position and has proven to be a tremendous run stopper. Wagner earned his first Pro-Bowl nod in 2014 and was named a first-team All Pro.

Seattle no doubt has Wagner in its future plans, it's just finding the proper resources to get a deal done.
