Seahawks' Robert Turbin underwent offseason hip surgery

Bob Stanton / USA TODAY Sports

Robert Turbin is the latest Seattle Seahawk to go under the knife this offseason.

The 25-year-old running back underwent hip surgery, the Seahawks confirmed Thursday. The severity of the injury is unclear, but according to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times, it doesn't look like it was serious.

Turbin is heading into his fourth year with the Seahawks and remains behind Marshawn Lynch on the depth chart, splitting carries with Christine Michael.

While he has yet to score a rushing touchdown in his career, Turbin emerged as a solid receiving threat out of the backfield in 2014. He made 16 catches and found the end zone twice as a check-down option for Russell Wilson.
