Brett Favre doesn't think Tom Brady cheated

Green Bay Packers legend Brett Favre threw himself in Tom Brady's corner during a recent interview with FOX News anchor Greta Van Susteren.

Asked for his opinion on the "Deflategate" scandal, Favre said that while he understands why the NFL had to take a stand against even the "insinuation" of cheating, he doesn't believe Brady is a cheater.

"I don't think by any stretch, in my opinion, that Tom was cheating," Favre said, cautioning that he hasn't been following the scandal that closely. "It sounds crazy. Historically, there's been stealing of signs - and that goes to baseball and football - just whatever advantage you could get. Lester Hayes putting Stickum on his arms for the Raiders. Pine tar. It's just endless, the advantages that players would try to get.

"I don't know if Tom can honestly say he has completed more passes because of it. I think more than anything, it helped with the grip based on conditions. Not every game. And would other players do it? Sure, I have no reason to think otherwise."

In other words, Favre believes the Patriots quarterback did as much as possible to gain an advantage without blatantly breaking the rules.
