Report: Saints host Kevin Williams on free-agent visit

Still looking to add depth to their defensive front, the New Orleans Saints recently met with free-agent tackle Kevin Williams, according to Kristian Garic of WWL Radio.

Williams spent the first 11 seasons of his career with the Minnesota Vikings after being selected with the ninth overall pick in the 2003 draft. He started in 171 of a possible 176 games over that span, recording 60 sacks and earning six trips to the Pro Bowl.

Though his role was somewhat limited after moving on to join the Seattle Seahawks for the 2014 campaign, the 34-year-old still appeared in all 16 games, tallying three sacks.

Williams is certainly closing in on the end of his highly productive career, but he could prove to be a valuable short-term addition as a five-technique defensive end and interior pass-rusher as part of the Saints' 3-4 base scheme.
